Focus Areas
Therapeutic Approaches
Anxiety
Anxiety and stress can feel overwhelming, impacting your relationships, daily responsibilities, confidence, and overall sense of peace. At Hope & Healing with Cara, I provide a supportive and compassionate space where you can openly explore the thoughts, emotions, and experiences contributing to your anxiety and stress.
Using evidence-based approaches, we will work together to develop practical coping skills, healthier thought patterns, emotional regulation strategies, and boundaries that support your well-being.
My goal is to help you feel more grounded, empowered, and confident as you navigate life with greater balance, self-understanding, and calm.
Depression
Depression can leave you feeling emotionally exhausted, disconnected, unmotivated, or stuck in patterns of hopelessness and self-doubt. At Hope & Healing with Cara, I provide a supportive and nonjudgmental space where you can openly process what you are carrying and begin reconnecting with yourself.
Together, we will explore the underlying factors contributing to your depression while building healthier coping skills, increasing self-understanding, and creating small, meaningful steps toward healing and renewed hope.
My goal is to help you feel more supported, empowered, and connected as you move toward greater emotional balance and fulfillment in your daily life.
Relationships
Relationship challenges can impact the way we see ourselves, communicate with others, and experience connection in our daily lives. Whether you are struggling with conflict, communication difficulties, trust issues, unhealthy relationship patterns, boundaries, attachment concerns, or feelings of loneliness and disconnection, therapy can provide a supportive space to better understand these dynamics.
At Hope & Healing with Cara, I help individuals explore relationship patterns, strengthen communication and emotional awareness, develop healthier boundaries, and build more secure and fulfilling connections with themselves and others.
Together, we will work toward creating healthier relationships grounded in authenticity, trust, and emotional well-being.
Life Transitions
Life transitions can bring uncertainty, stress, grief, and emotional overwhelm, even when the change itself is positive. Whether you are navigating relationship changes, motherhood, career shifts, loss, identity changes, or feeling uncertain about your next chapter, therapy can provide support and clarity during difficult seasons of life.
At Hope & Healing with Cara, I offer a compassionate space to process change, explore your emotions, strengthen coping skills, and reconnect with your sense of direction and self.
Together, we will work toward helping you feel more grounded, confident, and supported as you navigate life’s transitions with greater resilience and balance.
Trauma Recovery
Traumatic experiences can leave lasting emotional wounds that impact the way you view yourself, others, and the world around you. You may find yourself struggling with anxiety, emotional overwhelm, difficulty trusting others, shame, numbness, or feeling stuck in survival mode long after the experience has passed.
At Hope & Healing with Cara, I provide a safe, supportive, and trauma-informed space where you can process difficult experiences at your own pace without judgment.
Together, we will work toward understanding the impact of trauma, developing healthier coping strategies, rebuilding a sense of safety and self-trust, and creating space for healing, resilience, and renewed hope.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT focuses on identifying and changing unhelpful thought patterns, behaviors, and emotional responses that may be contributing to distress. Clients can expect to build practical coping skills, increase self-awareness, and learn healthier ways of responding to challenges in daily life.
Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT)
TF-CBT is a trauma-informed approach that helps individuals process difficult experiences while developing emotional regulation and coping skills. Therapy may include understanding how trauma impacts thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships while working toward healing and increased emotional safety.
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
Solution-Focused Therapy emphasizes strengths, resilience, and practical steps toward change rather than focusing only on problems. Clients can expect goal-oriented conversations that help identify what is already working and build on existing strengths to create meaningful progress.
Person-Centered Therapy
Person-Centered Therapy provides a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and accepted. This approach focuses on building self-awareness, emotional insight, and personal growth through a strong therapeutic relationship grounded in empathy and authenticity.
Positive Psychology
Positive Psychology focuses on identifying strengths, increasing resilience, and fostering overall well-being. Therapy may include exploring gratitude, self-compassion, purpose, healthy relationships, and ways to build a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
Strengths-Based Therapy
Strength-Based Therapy focuses on recognizing and building upon a client’s existing strengths, abilities, and resilience. Rather than focusing solely on struggles, this approach helps clients develop confidence, empowerment, and healthier patterns for navigating life’s challenges.
How it works
1
Book a Consultation Call
Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, and it’s important to find a therapist who feels like the right fit. A free consultation call gives us the opportunity to briefly discuss your concerns, answer questions, and explore whether working together feels supportive for your needs and goals.
2
Fill Out Intake Paperwork
Once you are ready to begin services, you will access and complete the secure client Intake Form where you can review policies, provide billing information, and share important background information before your first appointment.
3
Book Intake Appointment
Your intake appointment is our opportunity to begin getting to know one another more deeply. During this session, we will explore your current concerns, personal history, goals for therapy, and what you hope to gain from the counseling process in a supportive and collaborative environment.
4
Begin Therapy Services
Therapy is a collaborative process focused on healing, personal growth, and creating meaningful change. As we begin working together, we will explore the challenges bringing you to therapy, identify your goals, and develop healthier ways of coping and navigating life’s difficulties. During the first one to two sessions, we will also create a personalized treatment plan designed around your individual needs, experiences, and hopes for therapy so that our work together feels supportive, intentional, and aligned with your goals.
